ADVANCED ALIGNMENT | Āsana Anatomy for Teaching & Practice
This will be a powerful weekend immersion of āsana practice–live and in-person! Deepen your knowledge of anatomy, alignment, and engagement for āsana. Saturday covers the anatomical considerations from roots to limbs as well as spinal stability and mobility in back bends, forward folds, and twisting āsana. It explores foundational alignment principles and offers therapeutic approaches to props, manual adjustments, and adaptive practices for a healthy stable axial skeleton. On Sunday, expect a detailed breakdown of the structural anatomy of hands, wrists, neck and shoulders in arm balancing āsana and inversion practices, while immersing yourself in advanced asana alignment breakdown. Participate in discussion and reflection around resistance and fear with inversions. Cultivate a practice of compassion for yourself and ways to support others with hands-on assists, adaptive strategies, and therapeutic use of props. Students will have ample time for hands-on experience.
